Supports the region through various roles and responsibilities that may include providing direct oversight of the finance department including General Ledger, Payroll & Accounts Payable. Interacts with all hospital departments ensuring proper utilization and accounting of hospital capital and operating resources in accordance with corporate and hospital financial policies and procedures. As this role is structured towards development and matriculation into a future Executive Financial leadership role, there will be an additional focus on strategic planning, analysis, and business development.
Coordinates and supervises the Finance staff, including Accounts Payable. General Ledger and Payroll. Ensures that the staff provides the highest level of technical accuracy and service excellence to all customers.
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple entities. This includes reconciliation and analysis of all balance sheets and income statement accounts.
Complete all tax documents specific to the Hospital. Includes annual tax package, property tax accruals, sales and use tax returns.
Coordinates and supervises the completion of the annual operating budget financial statements including all income and expense reports.
Prepare variance analysis and partner with FP&A/CFO on financial insights
Coordinates and supervises the Hospital portion of supporting documents and analysis related to internal and external audits. Audits include (but not limited to); Medicare Cost Report and Sarbanes-Oxley.
Completes/coordinates financial projects and prepares related spreadsheets, analysis and other materials as assigned by the facility CFO & Regional CFO.
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing in-office accounting team capable of managing all accounting processes effectively while fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Develop and maintain comprehensive, auditable supporting schedules for all balance sheet accounts
Drive process improvements to support scalability and efficiency.
Performs other duties as assigned/required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
A minimum of five years of experience
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Computer hardware/software skills required. Completion of training programs, as required. CPA preferred.
10-15% travel
