Job Duties
- Serve as a Charge Nurse, Staff Nurse, or Assessment Coordinator within a residential healthcare setting.
- Provide direct nursing care to residents with mental, physical, developmental, and behavioral health needs.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including full body assessments and mental status evaluations.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, social workers, residents, and family members.
- Supervise and support paraprofessional and non-professional nursing staff.
- Direct and coordinate nursing care activities during assigned shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Monitor resident conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with nursing standards and facility protocols.
- Participate in infection control, quality improvement, risk management, and other specialty nursing initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, facility policies, and professional nursing standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions, including CPR and AED use.
- Perform a wide range of clinical procedures, including IV therapy, wound care, catheter care, medication administration, specimen collection, respiratory treatments, enteral feeding support, and ventilator care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, resident care reviews, and ongoing care planning activities.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing, or a valid non-renewable temporary practice permit.
- 2 years of experience preferred.
- Experience providing nursing care in long-term care, residential, behavioral health, developmental disability, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare settings preferred.
- AHA BLS certification.
