School Psychologist in Havre De Grace, MD

This full-time, contract opportunity spans a maximum of two school buildings, potentially working with both elementary and secondary grade levels. You'll play a vital role in enhancing student well-being and helping educators create positive learning experiences.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current certification as a School Psychologist
• Experience in both school-based psychological assessments and counseling
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills
• Ability to adapt techniques and interventions for elementary and secondary age groups
• Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and collaborative problem-solving

Major Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations and psychoeducational assessments to support student learning and behavior
• Assist in developing and implementing IEPs, participating in team meetings as a knowledgeable resource
• Provide individual and small group counseling services for students in need
• Collaborate with educators, families, and community professionals to identify student strengths and coordinate interventions
• Support crisis prevention and response efforts as needed within the school community
• Maintain accurate records, prepare relevant documentation, and ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations
• Champion an inclusive, positive school climate

With a set daily schedule—elementary from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm, and secondary from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm—you'll have the clarity to plan your professional activities and support students effectively.
