Step into an impactful role supporting two elementary school communities as a dedicated professional specializing in psychological assessment and educational support. This full-time contract position runs from October 12th through May 26, 2027, offering a balanced 30-hour workweek. You’ll devote 15 hours each to two nearby elementary sites, ensuring each school receives expert care for student evaluation needs.

Your primary focus will be handling new referrals and re-evaluations, assisting teams in making informed decisions that shape students' educational journeys. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to deliver thorough, compliant assessments while fostering positive outcomes for students.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Alabama School Psychologist or Psychometrist Certification required
• Strong grasp of Alabama’s standards for Special Education Evaluations
• Proven ability to conduct cognitive, academic, and social-emotional assessments
• Professional, dependable, and skilled at working collaboratively within school teams
• Effective communicator who can present findings clearly to staff and families

Responsibilities:

• Complete timely new referral and re-evaluation assessments for students
• Interpret data and develop comprehensive evaluation reports
• Meet regularly with school staff to discuss student needs and support eligibility decisions
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal guidelines regarding special education
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide consultative guidance
