One of our client is seeking a Senior Commercial Real Estate Attorney with 6–8 years of transactional experience and deep retail real estate experience, including big-box retail.

This role supports a growing New York real estate practice and offers the opportunity to work directly with senior partners on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.

What You’ll Do

• Negotiate and draft commercial leases for retail and office properties, representing both tenants and landlords (approximately 65% tenant-side / 35% landlord-side).
• Prepare and negotiate purchase and sale agreements for commercial real estate transactions.
• Conduct real estate due diligence for M&A transactions, including title review and analysis of complex title reports and policies.
• Negotiate SNDAs and lender approval instruments.
• Advise clients on regulatory, land use, zoning, and municipal hearing matters on an ad hoc basis.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful transaction outcomes.

Must-Haves

• 6–8 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
• Strong retail real estate experience, including big-box retail — key requirement.
• Experience with commercial lease negotiation/drafting, purchase and sale agreements, due diligence, and title review.
• Active New York Bar admission and good standing.
• Strong research and writing skills.

Nice to Have

• BigLaw or equivalent-caliber firm experience.
• Experience representing both tenants and landlords.
• SNDA negotiation and lender approval instrument experience.
• Land use, zoning, and municipal hearing experience.
