Shipping Manager

This role oversees day-to-day shipping and receiving operations in a small warehouse environment, ensuring that orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will manage a team of three warehouse staff, coordinate the movement of goods, and use an ERP system to maintain precise inventory and labeling records.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a small warehouse team of three, providing clear direction, support, and oversight of daily activities.
  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on schedule.
  • Use the ERP system to process orders, update inventory records, and track inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensure all products are correctly labeled according to company standards and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate warehouse workflows to optimize space utilization, material handling, and order processing efficiency.
  • Monitor incoming shipments, verify quantities and condition of goods, and resolve discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
  • Operate or oversee the operation of warehouse forklifts and other material-handling equipment in a safe manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as purchasing and customer service, to support accurate order fulfillment and timely deliveries.
  • Generate and review shipping documentation, such as packing lists and shipping labels, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and implement best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse environment.
  • Hands-on experience in warehouse management, including overseeing daily workflows and inventory handling.
  • Ability to manage and supervise a small warehouse team of three, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
  • Proficiency in using an ERP system for order processing, inventory updates, and shipment tracking.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, documentation, and labeling requirements.
  • Experience operating or directing the operation of warehouse forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in handling orders and inventory.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

  • Experience implementing or improving warehouse processes and workflows.
  • Comfort working with technology and learning new ERP or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with warehouse staff and other departments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a warehouse setting that involves regular interaction with physical inventory and material-handling equipment. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
