Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time About the role: At the Boston Scientific Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E) franchise, we design devices used by interventional radiologists in minimally invasive image-guided procedures. Our products include radioembolization (Y90), cryoablation systems, coils, particles & gels for embolization, as well as catheters and wires. Join us in developing medical device products that save lives. In this role, the software engineering intern will collaborate with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers and technician to develop features and updates for the cryoablation family of devices. Our core development environment include C++, Qt, and Linux OS. Your responsibilities will include: Use your problem-solving abilities to perform meaningful engineering work. Grow your skillset through a combination of training, hands-on experience, and mentorship. Support designing, developing and maintaining application and system software for our medical devices using C++ and Qt. Collaborate with a cross-functional team. Assist new product development teams in device development and testing. Research and analyze clinical and market data for new market opportunities. Familiarity with analytical tools such as Python Pandas and Matlab Basic understanding of asymmetric cryptography, including public/private key concepts, and familiarity with digital certificates and certificate-based security (e.g., PKI, TLS/SSL, and certificate management). Required Qualifications: Must graduate between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029 Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering Must be able to commit to one of the following full internship program periods: May 17th August 6th OR May 24th August 13th Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization Must have reliable transportation to and from the Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes) Boston Scientific Corporate location Strong embedded software design knowledge Qt, Python and/or Matlab experience Preferred Qualifications: Strong software development experience in embedded Linux device design and knowledge of user interface (UI) development using Qt. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse cross-functional teams. Ability and passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
