  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts with on-call rotation (weeknights, weekends, holidays)
  • Call Frequency: 1-2 nights during the week and 1 weekend per month

Cath Lab RN Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in critical care or cardiac nursing
  • Cardiovascular intervention experience required
  • Active Wisconsin or Compact Registered Nurse license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Successful completion of EKG test
  • National Institute of Healthcare Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification


Cath Lab RN Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to deliver patient-centered cardiac care
  • Perform assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluation of care in the cath lab
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital policies
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Educate and support patients and families regarding cardiac procedures
  • Participate in department and unit performance improvement initiatives
  • Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other healthcare units and departments
  • Manage complex cardiac situations and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuous learning
