Job Description
A large FinTech client is seeking an experienced Vendor Management Program Manager (VMO) to support and mature its vendor management program. This is a senior-level, highly independent role that will oversee vendor relationships, software renewals, procurement initiatives, contract management, risk reviews, and technology spend optimization across the organization.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing software vendors and SaaS portfolios, driving cross-functional procurement efforts, and partnering with stakeholders across IT, Security, Legal, Finance, and Procurement. This individual will be responsible for leading vendor performance evaluations, managing renewals, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring vendor compliance with internal standards and business objectives.
This position is fully remote and requires someone who can operate autonomously, influence stakeholders, and drive programs forward with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities Own and manage the end-to-end vendor management lifecycle for technology vendors and service providers. Lead contract renewals, negotiations, and vendor engagement strategies. Drive procurement projects and partner with Finance, Legal, Security, and IT teams throughout the vendor onboarding and renewal process. Monitor vendor performance through scorecards, KPIs, and business reviews. Manage software license inventories, utilization, and optimization efforts. Identify opportunities for cost savings, consolidation, and process improvements. Maintain vendor records, contract documentation, and renewal calendars. Partner with stakeholders to ensure vendors meet business requirements, security standards, and compliance expectations. Develop and improve vendor management processes, reporting, and governance frameworks. Provide strategic recommendations regarding vendor selection, renewal decisions, and technology investments.
