A Phlebotomist plays a crucial role in ensuring patient comfort while collecting high-quality specimens that lead to accurate results, assisting healthcare providers in patient diagnosis and treatment.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Greet the public in a professional, cheerful manner.
• Answer telephone inquiries and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
• Draw blood effectively with minimal discomfort while maintaining a high success rate in locating veins.
• Accurately identify and label specimens by adhering to patient and specimen identification protocols; utilize computer systems for registering and accessioning specimens.
• Demonstrate knowledge of various needles, anticoagulants, including special handling and preparation of tests performed.
• Assist with inventory management and the organization of supplies.
• Aid in specimen processing as needed.
• Perform other related miscellaneous duties as assigned.

In this role, the Phlebotomist supports various patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, ensuring that all interactions are handled with care and professionalism.
