Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

We are seeking a qualified Sterile Processing Technician to join our dynamic Surgical Services team. This position involves working on a 3x12 hour night shift schedule, specifically from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with holiday rotation and potential floating to meet departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing various surgical instruments and related equipment.
• Assist with the preparation and organization of sterile supplies for surgical procedures.
• Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines while handling surgical instruments.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the availability of necessary instruments and supplies.
• Participate in quality control measures and inventory management of surgical instruments.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, with a strong emphasis on sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping.
• Level 1 trauma experience is required.
• Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and GYN cases is preferred.
• Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician through CBSPD and/or HSPA is required.
• BLS certification is not required for this position.

Additional Information:

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requests for time off must be provided at the time of application submission; no requests will be approved after the contract is signed.
• The facility may call off one shift every two weeks, as part of the guaranteed hours policy.
