Stay involved in the care of medically complex patients while shaping how two inpatient rehabilitation programs deliver that care. Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a board-certified physician to join its inpatient physiatry team as Associate Medical Director.

You'll support the Medical Director at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown and serve as Acting Medical Director at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. The role combines direct patient care with a voice in clinical standards, program development, and how teams work together to help patients regain function and independence.

What you'll lead

• Patient care and recovery. Provide evidence-based medical and rehabilitation care for medically complex inpatients. Build and coordinate treatment plans with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, therapists, and case managers.

• Program quality and safety. Review performance measures with rehabilitation leaders and use the findings to improve patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.

• Operations across both sites. Help coordinate physician coverage, maintain continuity of medical leadership, and support compliance with CMS, CARF, and hospital medical staff requirements.

• Program development. Contribute to accreditation, community outreach, education, research, and professional development.

What you bring

• Board certification and experience caring for medically complex patients in an interdisciplinary rehabilitation setting

• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to lead and communicate across disciplines

• Knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation documentation, medical necessity, utilization review, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
