General Gastroenterologist | Central NJ | Minimal Call & Outpatient Focus

An established, community-focused, multispecialty healthcare organization in Central New Jersey is seeking a General Gastroenterologist to join its growing outpatient gastroenterology service.

This opportunity offers the chance to provide comprehensive GI care in a collaborative clinical environment, with a combination of outpatient consultations, follow-up visits, and endoscopic procedures performed at an affiliated hospital. The ideal candidate will enjoy managing a broad general GI patient population and contributing to the continued development of the practice. Experience or a clinical interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is particularly desirable.

Practice Highlights:

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the potential for adjusted hours on procedure days.

• Clinical structure: A combination of outpatient clinic sessions and dedicated procedure days.

• Procedural volume: Approximately 10-14 procedures per day, depending on case mix and scheduling.

• Practice setting: Outpatient clinic with endoscopic procedures performed at an affiliated hospital.

• Inpatient responsibilities: Primarily outpatient care; routine inpatient rounding is not anticipated.

• Call: Expected to be very limited, primarily involving calls from the physician's own patients, with additional clinical support available.Join an established, community-focused, multispecialty healthcare organization

• The Gastroenterologist will work with clinical/administrative leadership to support patient care and the continued growth of the GI service.

• The practice has advanced practice provider support and coordinates with an affiliated hospital for scheduled endoscopic procedures.

• The physician will primarily practice at one Central New Jersey location, with potential opportunities to see patients at a nearby second location.

Clinical Scope:

The physician will evaluate and manage a broad range of gastroenterology conditions, including:

• Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other esophageal disorders

• Colon cancer screening and surveillance

• Abdominal pain and other gastrointestinal symptoms

• Anemia and gastrointestinal bleeding

• Constipation and other bowel disorders

• Liver disease and hepatology-related conditions

• Hemorrhoids, rectal bleeding, and anal fissures

• Routine endoscopic responsibilities include colonoscopy and upper endoscopy.

• Experience or additional interest in hepatology is preferred.

• Advanced endoscopy skills are a plus but are not required
