Mid-Level Insurance Defense Associate | New York City

$140,000–$175,000 Base + Bonus

I’m working with a well-established New York City defense law firm that is looking to add a Mid-Level Insurance Defense Associate to its growing team.

This is a great opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of insurance defense litigation experience who is looking for meaningful responsibility, hands-on litigation exposure, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on sophisticated matters.

The Role

You’ll handle a varied caseload involving matters such as general liability, premises liability, product liability, construction accidents, and other insurance defense litigation. The position offers substantial hands-on experience, including court appearances, depositions, motion practice, mediations, and trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Handle court appearances, hearings, and mediations
• Provide clear and timely updates to clients and insurance carriers
• Work closely with partners on case strategy and trial preparation

What We’re Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York Bar
• 3–5 years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Deposition and court appearance experience preferred
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively with a team
