Operations Supervisor Robotics Laboratory

The Operations Supervisor leads day-to-day activities within our Robotics Laboratory, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent execution of operational workflows. This role supports ongoing research and development by coordinating routine robotics tasks and guiding a team of Lab Operators. Success in this position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain operational stability in a fast-paced technical environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Lab Operators to ensure accurate and safe task execution
  • Train team members on robotics systems, lab protocols, and operational standards
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and maintain consistent accountability
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive team culture

Operational Oversight

  • Manage execution of routine robotics workflows using tablet-based control systems
  • Ensure consistency, reliability, and adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Troubleshoot minor operational issues and escalate technical concerns when needed

Lab Readiness & Compliance

  • Support basic hardware setup and system preparation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant laboratory environment
  • Monitor equipment functionality, power systems, and general lab conditions

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical operations environment
  • 23 years of supervisory or team-lead experience, including coaching and performance oversight
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow and enforce standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a structured environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with technical troubleshooting or basic hardware setup
  • Familiarity with robotics systems or tablet-based operational tools

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move around the lab for extended periods
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to frequently use both arms and hands to handle equipment and/or controls
  • Standard lab environment (moderate noise, clean workspace)
