Position Overview

KARM Stores is hiring Retail Associates and Processing Associates to join our team! Both positions play an important role in supporting store operations, serving our customers and donors, and furthering KARM Stores' mission.

Whether you enjoy working with customers on the sales floor or prefer sorting, pricing, and preparing donated merchandise for sale, you can make a difference as part of our team.

Associates are expected to work efficiently, meet position-specific goals, support their teammates, and demonstrate KARM Stores' mission and core values.

Retail Associate Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and contribute to a positive shopping experience.
• Process register transactions accurately, including cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
• Maintain the accuracy and security of all transactions.
• Stock shelves, clothing racks, and sales floor displays to maximize shopping opportunities.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
• Support Retail Management in maintaining customer service standards and daily store operations.
• Demonstrate KARM Stores' mission through interactions with customers, donors, and fellow team members.

Processing Associate Responsibilities

• Accept donations and assist with unloading and organizing donated merchandise.
• Presort, sort, evaluate, and price merchandise according to established procedures.
• Prepare merchandise for the sales floor in a timely and accurate manner.
• Meet daily and weekly production goals established by management, including the company goal of 35 pieces produced per hour.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.
• Keep processing areas organized and work collaboratively with the team to maintain workflow.

• Basic computer skills, including typing and web browsing.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet established goals.
• Ability to learn and perform the duties required for the assigned position.
• Attention to detail and the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Dependability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and productivity.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for up to 100% of a standard workday.
• Frequent lifting, bending, reaching, and other physical activities, potentially up to 75% of a standard workday.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical activity, including potentially strenuous tasks.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, an essential requirement for job performance.
• Ability to safely handle, move, sort, and stock merchandise and donations.

Schedule

• Every Sunday off!
• Store operating hours are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Some Saturdays are required.
• Availability to work assigned shifts within store operating hours.
