What You'll Do:

• Build the off-road truck safety case.
• Hazard analysis.
• Test preparation.
• Commissioning readiness.
• Incidents and triage.
• Change assessment.
• Grow and lead a small team.
• Use AI tooling to increase productivity.
• Draft and maintain site risk assessments.
• Build your own tooling.
• Be rigorous about the boundary.

What We're Looking For:

• 8+ years in systems safety, safety engineering or a closely related systems discipline in a safety-critical domain.
• Experience building a safety argument from scratch.
• Structured hazard analysis depth at both the system and the operational level.
• Comfortable leading one or two people while still being the person who writes the safety case.
• Python or SQL sufficient to work event data yourself.
• Willingness to travel to sites when needed.

Nice To Have:

• Off-road, heavy vehicle or industrial machinery experience.
• Working knowledge of US mine safety regulation.
• Experience commissioning autonomous or remotely operated equipment.
• Experience adapting an existing safety method into a new domain.
• Experience building a small team from a standing start.

What Else You Need To Know:

This role is based in our San Francisco office location. All of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week. The base salary range for this role is $195,000 - $240,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards.
