Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity that requires night shift availability. The role includes responsibilities in sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization of instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols.
• Ensure proper decontamination of surgical items.
• Assemble and wrap surgical instruments for use in various medical procedures.
• Float within the department and to sister facilities as needed.
• Participate in holiday rotations as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is required.
• Hands-on experience with various case types including Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, Transplant, and GYN preferred.
• National Certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are mandatory.
• BLS certification is not required for this position.

• Candidates must provide all requests for time off at the time of submission; no requests will be approved post contract signing.
• Employees are subject to call-offs with guarantees and limitations on tardiness.
• During hurricane season, staff may be required to participate in emergency response teams.
• Parking costs apply during night and weekend shifts, with a one-time payment for a parking pass.

• Type of Facility: Level I Trauma Center with a teaching environment.
• Total Staffed Beds: 820.
