Director Of Clinical Documentation & Reimbursement

Whitecap Search is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Clinical Documentation & Reimbursement to lead clinical documentation, coding accuracy, and reimbursement functions at a prominent assisted living facility and nursing home in the Bronx.

Function

This role involves overseeing the MDS and health information teams to ensure assessments, documentation, and data reporting are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements and payment models. The successful candidate will partner with clinical and operational leadership to use data and documentation to improve care quality, optimize reimbursement, and support performance improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical documentation and reimbursement for the nursing home
• Track MDS item sets and audit all aspects of the RAI process
• Facilitate facility-wide education plans for MDS updates, payment reforms, and any changes made to quality measures.
• Drive education, auditing, and process improvement efforts to keep the organization current with regulatory changes and best practices.
• Report to the SVP of Quality and Corporate Compliance.
• Manage a team of 7 direct reports, including Clinical Reimbursement Managers and Coordinators.

Requirements

• BSN required, MSN preferred.
• NYS RN license required.
• 3 years of MDS and reimbursement experience in a skilled nursing facility setting, including 2 years of leadership experience.
• Completion of NYS PRI assessor program or RAC-CT preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, NYS nursing standards, and Medicare & Medicaid regulations required.
