Medical Assistant – CMA/MA

Job Summary:


The Medical Assistant II specializes in outpatient primary care with dedicated pediatric support. This role involves performing clinical tasks, patient interactions, and administrative duties to support patient care and clinic operations.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Greet patients, check them in, and prepare examination rooms and equipment for procedures.
  
• 
  Take and record vital signs, communicate findings to providers, and recognize emergency situations for immediate attention.
  
• 
  Assist providers during examinations and treatments while handling patient inquiries over the phone.
  
• 
  Collect and process laboratory specimens, operate and maintain clinical equipment, and ensure adherence to aseptic techniques.
  
• 
  Register new patients, establish medical records, and assist with billing and insurance documentation.
  
• 
  Instruct patients on procedure preparations and handle routine patient and administrative requests.
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  
• 
  Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT, or CCMA with 12-month D-H apprenticeship.
  
• 
  Current CPR/BLS certification through AHA.
  
• 
  Previous experience in outpatient or ambulatory care settings preferred, pediatric experience required.
  
• 
  Strong communication skills and ability to recognize urgent patient needs.
