Tech Sterile Processing Tech

Job Summary:


The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the cleaning, sterilization, and proper handling of surgical instruments and medical supplies to ensure patient safety and compliance with industry standards. This role supports surgical teams by maintaining the integrity and availability of sterile instruments across various specialties.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Conduct thorough decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment.
  
• 
  Operate and troubleshoot sterilization and instrument tracking equipment in adherence to protocols.
  
• 
  Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes, tray assembly, and inventory control.
  
• 
  Supervise and provide direction to Lead Technicians and other staff in daily operational tasks.
  
• 
  Monitor workflow and equipment performance to meet case demands and safety standards.
  
• 
  Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with AAMI ST79, AORN guidelines, CDC recommendations, and infection prevention protocols.
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing experience.
  
• 
  Hold valid CBSPD and/or CRCST certification; HSPABLS certification preferred.
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency with electronic instrument tracking systems.
  
• 
  Exhibit leadership skills and prior supervisory experience in a sterile processing environment.
  
• 
  Be familiar with infection control standards and regulatory compliance.
  
• 
  Show the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical setting.
