Job Summary:
The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports rehabilitation teams by providing therapeutic interventions to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This position is critical in assisting patients to regain essential skills and improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
Implement treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist to meet patient goals.
Document patient progress and communicate updates to the supervising therapist.
Assist in patient evaluations and prepare treatment areas for therapy sessions.
Educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises and activities.
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized treatment environment.
Qualifications:
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or credential.
Minimum of a relevant Associates degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting.
Proven experience working in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to adapt to diverse patient needs and treatment plans.
